Vintage Bamboo H.J. Frost & Co. Fly Fishing Pole

Best for Flagship feel on a mid budget I like The flagship mandrel, which means kits and sections from Preston's dearer poles drop straight on Avoid if You need to fish beyond 8.5m, in which case the Matrix MTX1 V2 13m buys real reach for £150 more Pros ✓Brilliant power and stiffness for the price ✓Compatible with wider Superium kits ✓Handles heavy elastics and big carp with ease ✓Surprisingly responsive and balanced for an 8.5m pole Cons ✕The package stops at three top kits with no cupping kit, so add one if you want to feed through the pole Daiwa Matchman Power Pole Longest pole for the least money How It Scored HMC+ high modulus carbon with Daiwa's integrated taping and section alignment, though it carries more weight than the shorter poles here
